I’ve been reading some of the posts about being quarantined and I wonder what that would be like. I’m a long haul trucker and there has been no slow down on my days. My hardest problems is trying to find food on the road. Luckily, I do carry as much food as I can in the truck, but it does run out at times. Sometimes, I just don’t have the time to wait for it to heat up. I am not driving my assigned truck because it is in the shop, so I don’t have my microwave with me now. I have what they call a “lunch box oven” which works very well, it just takes time (about 45 minutes to an hour per meal).
I get home for a day (maybe 2) off after being away for 2 to 3 weeks. So many people are asked to stay home and, in some cases, almost forced to stay home. They are not making any money and I can not tell you how bad I feel for them on that topic, but I almost envy them being able to have time at home for themselves.
I do hope that every one is being able to handle the quarantine with little to no problems. Hang in there! I always do when I’m away from home. It’s just the thing we have to do right now.
